 Omesh Jethwani, NSW State Manager Apprenticeship Mentoring (CAMS) / Jack Long, Apprenticeship Mentoring Officer

 Omesh Jethwani

In February 2003 Omesh Jethwani joined the Master Builders Association of NSW as an Apprenticeship / Operations Manager and managed the apprenticeship department overseeing a team of 6 employees and 250 apprentices.  Omesh managed the department for 9 years and during his time, over 1300 apprentices were recruited and nearly 700 apprentices had graduated through the Group Scheme.

In May 2012 Omesh joined the Construction Apprenticeship Mentoring Scheme Program as NSW State Manager.  Omesh currently mentors over 80 apprentices from different trade backgrounds.

Omesh holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (major Human Resource) and Master of International Business (major Management of Technology).  In addition Omesh has qualifications in Introductions to Site Safety Plans Certificate, OH&S Induction Training Certificate, Return to Work Coordinator Certificate, Advance Return to Work Coordinator Certificate, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Diploma in Training & Assessment, Diploma of Management OH&S, Suicide Awareness Connector Certificate, Aboriginal Culture Awareness Certificate, safeTALK Certificate, Construction Apprenticeship Mentor Certificate and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Certificate (ASIST) – Livingworks Training Programs.

Prior to 2000 Omesh had also worked in Singapore and Hong Kong holding several different positions in different industries.

Jack Long

In February 2003 Jack Long was employed as a carpenter apprentice for 4 years through the Master Builders Group Scheme.  In 2008, a year after completing his apprenticeship, Jack joined the Master Builders Group Scheme as a Safety Officer looking after 130 apprentices from various trade backgrounds. His role included but not limited to mentoring, safety visits on residential and commercial sites, site safety inspections and work procedures.

In June 2012 Jack joined the Construction Apprenticeship Mentoring Scheme Program as Apprenticeship Mentoring Officer.  Jack currently mentors over 80 apprentices from different trade backgrounds.

His current qualifications include Certificate III in Carpentry Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety, Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Diploma in Training & Assessment, Site Management, Suicide Awareness Connector Certificate – Mates In Construction, Aboriginal Culture Awareness Certificate, safeTALK Certificate, Construction Apprenticeship Mentor Certificate and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Certificate (ASIST) – Livingworks Training Programs.
