Can builders become rich?

You can make a lot of money in this industry (even without the responsibility of owning a business, many PM's make more than 200,000), but if you want to be the man with a lot of money, that's a little more. You can also lose your shirt in a poorly managed and poorly offered job. Avoiding overtime can also save money and increase productivity. Overtime means that you pay more for your work, and workers are generally less productive when they work overtime.

One study showed a decrease of up to 15% in worker productivity during 50-hour and 60-hour weeks. This means that you could waste 15% of your money every time your team works overtime. According to one estimate, about 12 percent of masonry materials are wasted on a typical job and end up in a landfill. To build an entire house, that equates to approximately 2.5 to 4 tons of waste (about 3 to 5 pounds of waste per square foot).

This loss costs you twice as much: the cost of materials and the cost of disposing of waste.
